Global IT spending will be essentially flat in 2016, according to analysts at Gartner. Yet D&H Distributing Co. saw growth at rates approaching 80 percent this year in selected product categories. Here’s a look at which markets grew most sharply for the Harrisburg, Pa.-based company and what that reveals about opportunities for channel pros more broadly.
Given how long it’s been around by now, one might not think of cloud computing as a red hot opportunity. Yet sales of software-as-a-service, platform-as-a-service, and other hosted solutions climbed 75 percent for D&H this year. According to Schwab, moreover, there’s lots of room left for further growth.
“It’s far from saturated,” Schwab says of the market for cloud products and services among U.S. SMBs. “We’re very bullish on the applications and the usage models for small business.”
Look for Microsoft Office 365 licenses, migration services, and security solutions to remain top sellers in the cloud category, he continues.
