ConnectWise emerged from the Continuum deal with 16 solutions and services in its portfolio. Linking them together more tightly is a major priority for the future.
“We’re driving towards a unified platform where we will be able to share information from product to product,” Willison says.
That could involve pulling information from BrightGauge, the managed services metrics and reporting vendor acquired by Continuum in 2019, into the ConnectWise Manage PSA system, for instance, or using insights gleaned from one of the security solutions in Continuum’s recently re-branded Fortify family to drive automated action in the company’s RMM systems.
For the moment, “RMM systems” remains the correct wording, as ConnectWise has two such products, ConnectWise Automate and ConnectWise Command. That may not be true for much longer, though.
“We’re now making a significant investment to bring the best features of both of those products together,” says Willison, who declined to specify when ConnectWise partners might see the results of that undertaking.
Thoma Bravo, the private equity investor that bought ConnectWise early in 2019, got a hat tip from Willison for its assistance in funding that and other initiatives. “We’re making significant investments, particularly in our products,” he says. “You sometimes don’t have access to that kind of investment capital that we’re fortunate enough to have with Thoma Bravo’s backing.”
