Here’s a look at what two leaders of the Downers Grove, Ill.-based technology association’s IT security community had on their mind.

Threats like ransomware have business owners more anxious than ever before about security dangers, and more willing to pay for security help from providers with specialized know-how as well. Channel pros capable of delivering that assistance have a significant edge over their competition.
“It’s a great differentiator,” Bradbury says. “Those that have been first in that market are setting themselves apart and they are taking advantage of that opportunity and they’re making revenue as a result of it.”
Ian Trump, a fellow IT security community leader and global cyber security strategist for management and security software maker SolarWinds Worldwide LLC, points to another good reason IT providers should cultivate security expertise: It could get you a better price for your business when retirement time arrives.
“If you want to sell your business, the more security you’re doing [and] the less times your customers are breached, the better you are at doing your job,” he observes. “You’re going to be worth more money.”
