Marcus Aurelius (Penguin Classics, 2006)

This translation of Stoic philosophy from Marcus Aurelius, a Roman emperor, has helped Leia Kupris Shilobod, CEO of InTech Solutions, with her business and leadership skills. Stoicism, a philosophy that originated in ancient Greece and Rome, emphasizes positivity, logic, and virtuous character. “Studying Stoic philosophy has been so helpful for me in business because it makes you focus on only the things that are within the locust of your control—your thoughts, your actions, and your behavior. … If you make emotionally based decisions, they're not going to be really sound decisions.
