If It's Smart, It's Vulnerable
Mikko Hypponen (Wiley, 1st ed., 2022)
Cybersecurity expert Mikko Hypponen dives into the world of smart connected devices, discussing both the transformative nature of the Internet of Things as well as the potential security vulnerabilities the IoT has opened up. The author includes chapters on the types of attackers infosec professionals face, how data became money, the evolution of malware and ransomware, and how law enforcement and intelligence agencies operate on the internet. “It’s a fascinating look at the IoT,” says Anthony Oren, CEO of Nero Consulting, an MSP in New York. “Something as simple as my Amazon-powered microwave in my office here. It's connected to the web. … If I can access it remotely, theoretically so can a bad guy.”
