Back in 2016, when Datto introduced its Datto Drive file sync and share solution, the company announced plans to launch a major end user demand generation initiative aimed at feeding a million sales opportunities to its partners. That effort, which yielded just 10,000 leads in the end, appears to have been an experiment that failed.
“It kind of fell on deaf ears,” Rawlinson says of the campaign. “Trying to convince an owner of a 25-person construction company in New York that they need to look at business continuity is just difficult.”
