“We’ve seen a few service providers receiving calls pretending to be from a customer,” says Wuest, of Acronis. I’ve lost my phone, the caller says, so we’d better change my password to be safe. And can you please text the new password to my replacement phone, which has a different number?
“Some of the MSPs are falling for that,” Wuest says.
