Newcomers to SMB networking and channel pros frustrated by the limitations of low-end, commodity-priced networking products were both early adopters of the Datto Networking line, according to John Tippett, the vice president in charge of those products. Partners looking for a more affordable alternative to higher-end networking solutions are the company’s next target.
“We’re picking off business now from partners who thought they were happy with those enterprise solutions, that are now realizing that similar functionality, similar experience, fraction of the cost, only in the channel, and backed by Datto is a sweet proposition,” he says.
Indeed, he continues, both the new mobile management app (pictured) and lifetime warranty for networking systems announced at DattoCon last week deliberately mimic offerings typically associated with more expensive products.
“It’s just sort of expanding that entry point further, and moving upstream to anyone using those high-end solutions,” Tippett says.
