Did you know that Zoom sells voice services in addition to its immensely popular video collaboration platform? Don’t worry if you didn’t. Though buyers have snapped up 1 million Zoom Phone seats in the less than two years since that product’s debut, lots of channel pros don’t think of Zoom as a unified communications-as-a-service option, according to John Flynn (pictured), a senior cloud vendor manager at D&H.
“For any current Zoom customer, it’s as simple as adding the Phone SKU to your current paid subscription for conferencing, and it’s a real easy turnaround,” he noted at the THREADcast yesterday.
Here’s an even more surprising fact about Zoom: it’s a digital signage player as well. Users of the vendor’s Zoom Rooms solution can leverage their displays, both in and out of conference rooms, to project content to employees and guests between meetings.
Better yet, Flynn noted, that feature is free and simple for MSPs to support. “As long as you have a Zoom Rooms subscription, Zoom has made it easy to manage content through a Zoom managed admin portal, which you can control either onsite or remotely.”
