Kaseya introduced its Compliance Manager product, which helps channel pros keep clients in line with regulations like HIPAA, GDPR, and (since late 2020) CMMC, back in 2018, when it acquired RapidFire Tools. Within roughly the next three months it will add a fully outsourced, as-a-service version of the solution as well.
According to Kaseya CEO Fred Voccola, the new offering will free MSPs from “the last 20% of the job” associated with a compliance audit, much of which is hands-on and time consuming. Completing Compliance Manager’s HIPAA assessment, for example, requires someone to submit photographic proof that any room in a medical practice used to store patient records has a door lock in place.
“We think that this will really help the smaller MSPs that don’t necessarily have the resources to do little things like that,” Voccola says. Pricing for the service, which has yet to be disclosed, will be on a per end user organization basis at rates low enough to make selling it profitable, he adds.
“It’s priced so that the MSP makes at least a 75% margin on the offer,” Voccola says.
Compliance is currently Kaseya’s fastest-growing business, thanks in part to more downstream pressure from regulators on smaller businesses and increased scrutiny on claims by cyber insurers.
“Compliance is the next big thing for SMB,” says Voccola.
