SlimLine drives are not something everybody is looking for, but when its needed its good to have an idea of who and what to buy as either your buying your first drive or a replacement for a broken one. I had no problems with this drive whatdoever, I installed three different operating systems, office and many games and all without problem. The drive reads CDs and DVDs just fine and I encountered no combatibility issues with the SilverStone 8X +/- DVDRW. This is a fairly niche product, and that said it does have a market to appeal to and for those people this is a very viable item. Overall a very solid experience.
