MSi Raptor Mid Tower Case Review: Page 4 of 4

MSi is a company that has been around for quite awhile now and has a very good name in the market. This is their first foray into the PC case market business and its well priced. This Raptor is aimed at the budget minded gamer that still wants some great features and durability. By B. Ramirez

MSi Raptor Conclusion

This is a fully featured mid-tower that comes in at a very nice and affordable price point. It also gives you lots of options for upgrading and improving your airflow. With only two included fans I would seriously consider adding a fan or two to the side panel or the bottom of the case. This is particularly true if you’re planning to install some fairly high-end hardware.

This case has quite a bit of competition but it does do a very good job of offering some features that you just aren’t going to find at this price point. This case doesn’t look too bad either. That alone sets it apart from most of the other offerings in this price range. None of the edges were sharp or jagged and everything feels pretty sturdy. This case should stand up to just about anything that you could put it through in normal use. It’s also not too heavy to be taken to a LAN party. I may not be the best judge of that because I recently took my water cooled HAF X to a LAN party. I guess sometimes you do what you have to do.

For those that are looking for a good case, but don’t really have the money to spend on one of the fancier enthusiast level cases, this could just be the case for you. At this price point you really shouldn’t pass it up without giving it a look. There are options for water cooling and with the included fan filters there just aren’t any other cases that can compete with it. It would have been nice if they had included a switch to turn off the front LEDs for the fan but this is just a personal feeling. I just feel that they could have given a little more thought to the way that the reset switch was wired. It’s not a big deal, but it is a bit annoying.

To wrap this up let me start by saying that there really aren’t any cases that can compete with this one in terms of price and features. There are a couple of things that I didn’t like about it, but not nearly as many as I was anticipating. MSi have been really good about producing quality products at an affordable price; so I guess I shouldn’t have been too surprised that this case would be any different. With the included features and the amazing price this case is definitely an Editor’s Choice Award winner here at Motherboards.Org.
