If you are an AMD fan check out the new 880GMA-UD2H from Gigabyte, its aimed to please the media crowd. By Elric Phares

It has been an interesting 2010 so far in the world of computers. The delayed introduction of Fermi and the resulting domination of ATI video cards has continued, and Fermi, while faster than the HD 5870 in many respects, simply didn’t have the same power draw and cost metric. On the CPU side of things, Intel has released Core i5 and i3 CPUs with integrated graphics on the CPU itself. AMD has launched low cost 6-core CPUs and chipsets to support the new CPUs in the form of the 8 series chipsets and will likely launch their Fusion APU with integrated graphics on the CPU die in 2011.

In the meantime, AMD has four distinct chipsets in their 8 Series of motherboards, including the 890FX for the high-end, the 890GX for the high end integrated solution, the 880G for the mainstream integrated solution and the 870 chipset for the mainstream non-integrated solution. The high/lo mix of chipsets for motherboards allows manufacturers flexibility when building systems. GIGABYTE is a Tier-1 motherboard manufacturer building motherboards, cases, video cards and other computer related equipment. Today, I’m reviewing the GIGABYTE 880GMA-UD2H motherboard based upon the 880G chipset.
