Before we get into the motherboard itself, let’s take a look at the features that this chipset has to offer. This chipset’s primary feature is support for Intel’s 2nd generation of Core processors. This means that this board features full support for all of the Intel Core i series 1155 socket processors. These processors feature support for Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 technology and support for Intel Pentium and Celeron processors 1155 socket processors.
This chipset also features support for Intel’s Smart Response Technology. Smart Response is the technology that allows the user to pair a small SSD drive with a larger capacity mechanical drive, and achieve nearly the same performance as a stand-alone SSD drive. This is an incredible feature that we’ve reviewed here in the past with really impressive results. Intel’s efforts to give their consumers better performance at a reasonable price, is demonstrated by this feature.
Another feature of this chipset is that it supports Intel’s embedded graphics support. This feature gives the user the ability to have high definition video and graphics support without the need for a discreet graphics card. Intel’s Sandy Bridge processors have graphics processors built into them. This can be a very effective way to save money and also save energy that would be used for a discrete graphics solution. Intel has led the way with this new technology and demonstrates that they are on the forefront of computing technology.
