Lenovo Launches New N23 and N42 Laptops Geared for K-12 – Hands On.

Here at Lenovo’s Accelerate conference in Orlando, the ThinkPad maker dropped several new durable notebooks designed for K-12. I got a chance to play around with them for a few minutes yesterday between breakout sessions, but the N23 stands out to me as a real winner for K-12. It’s a honest to goodness Yoga style convertible, but crazy durable, with solid state storage, decent amount of RAM, Windows 10, and nice looking display for only $249.

It’s a honest to goodness Yoga style convertible, but crazy durable, with solid state storage, decent amount of RAM, Windows 10, and nice looking display for only $249. The other two are low cost, but didn’t really stand out to me as anything a student would get excited about. Administrators will like it though – super durable Windows and Chrome notebooks for $199.

Orlando, FL – May 10, 2016: Lenovo (HKSE: 992) (ADR: LNVGY), at its annual Accelerate Partner Forum, today announced two new N-series laptops designed specifically for K-12 institutions. Like the current Lenovo N22 models, the Lenovo N23 and N42 models are purposely designed for the K-12 market with ruggedized features including reinforced ports, stronger hinges, a spill-proof keyboard, and anti-peel keys to protect the system in the classroom.†

The Lenovo N23 with Microsoft Windows 10 offers students an 11.6-inch multimode form-factor with four unique positions including laptop, tablet, tent and stand. The Lenovo N23 can adapt to the application or content that the student is working with, and is powered by an Intel processor for fast boot times and an all-day battery life. Lenovo’s new N23 laptop also includes an HD IPS panel for crystal clear computing across a wide range of viewing angles and is available with up to 8GB of memory and up to 128GB of storage.

For students that need a device optimized for applications requiring a larger screen size, the Lenovo N42 Chromebook is a great choice and is offered as a 14.0-inch form factor. The Lenovo N42 Chromebook is available with up to 4GB of memory and up to 32GB of storage.†

“We have seen tremendous acceptance of our N-series products by K-12 Institutions due to their rugged designs and outstanding value,” said Rob Cato, Executive Director of North America Public Sector Sales. “We are excited to add this new 11.6-inch Windows convertible and a new 14.0-inch Chromebook to the N-series portfolio.”

Pricing and Availability

The Lenovo N23 and N42 will be available in June from Lenovo business partners and on www.lenovo.com. Pricing for the Lenovo N42 models start at $199. Pricing for the Lenovo N23 models start at $249.
