Thycotic Removes the Headache of Creating a Secure Password with the Introduction of its New Password Generator Free Tool

Free Password Generator Creates Strong, Random Password for Immediate Use

Thycotic, a provider of privileged account management (PAM) solutions for more than 7,500 organizations worldwide, today announced the release of its Password Generator Free Tool.† The new tool allows users to easily select how they need their password to be generated, providing special characters, length, and non-duplicates as clickable choices. †Once a random password is generated, it is ready to be copy and pasted for use. †To comply with security best practices, the new password is generated only locally on a user’s computer or device.†

“In addition to our commercial software solutions, through the release of our free tools, we as a company are demonstrating our commitment to privileged password security,” said†Jacob Stucky, VP of Software Development at Thycotic. “No other password security company offers this many valuable tools accessible to the public that are free forever.† With the release of our Password Generator Free Tool along with our already available 12 additional free password tools, Thycotic is leading the defense against password hacking.”

Thycotic’s new Password Generator Tool complements the company’s existing free tool, the Password Strength Checker, released by Thycotic earlier this year.† In the Strength Checker tool, users can type in their existing password and immediately obtain a verdict on whether it is a strong password.† For new passwords; however, the Password Generator Tool creates a strong, random password for immediate use.

“The problem is that hackers are all too human and know what we are doing when we think up a password,” said†Steve Kahan, CMO at Thycotic. “Once they learn our pet’s name through hacker discovery, it is easy to come up with a trial and error sequence to find the rest of the characters we added.† In other words, your strong password, although it passed the automated checker and was declared a “strong” password, is truly not a strong password at all. This new free tool will take the hard work out of thinking up a secure password and keep hackers at bay.”
