Tech Data Corporation, of Clearwater, Fla., announced that its Apple Specialized Business Unit (SBU) has expanded its solutions offering to include a video surveillance and physical security software solution for Mac OS X. The distributor will offer its Apple reseller customers access to an entire suite of videoNEXT IP security management software, including solutions for small businesses, large enterprises, and government agencies.
videoNEXT is a developer of physical security information management software solutions that run resident on Mac OS X. Businesses and institutions using Apple-based solutions no longer need to take the extra step and investment to load virtualization software to create a Windows or Linux environment to run their physical security management system. videoNEXT enables users to turn any Apple computer attached to the network into a fully functional IP security control station.
Tech Data distributes the following videoNEXT solutions:
- SKM-Cirrus-Designed for small businesses using fewer than 8 IP cameras; also a solution for Apple retailers to implement their own security solution
- SKM-Stratus-Designed for large enterprises capturing data from an unlimited number of IP cameras, access control sensors, point-of-sale stations, and other security devices
- SKM-Altus-Designed for government agencies requiring more stringent security standards with full enterprise functionality
Also available are several modules to the core management solutions:
- v-IQ-Video analytics capabilities
- v-MX-Video wall solution
- v-PS-Point-of-sale module
- v-AC-Access-control plug-in capability
- CAVU-Mobile surveillance application on Apple’s iPhone
According to Tech Data, videoNEXT solutions are compatible with most major IP cameras, including those from industry leaders like Axis Communications, Cisco, D-Link, Panasonic, Pelco, and Sony, which Tech Data also distributes.
