Schneider Electric Increases Certainty, Flexibility, Speed of Deployment for Converged IT with Cisco Certification of APC NetShelter SX

– APC NetShelter SX with Shock Packaging certified for risk-free transport and deployment of pre-integrated Cisco IT for converged systems

– Alliance drives simplification for channel partners and end users

ANDOVER, Mass., June 1, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management and automation, today announced the APC NetShelterÆ SX IT cabinet with Shock Packaging is now certified to ship as a pre-integrated package with Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) servers. Through this validation, APC is providing channel partners and customers the assurance of pre-tested, proven converged system compatibility, enabling them to deploy IT faster than ever before.

Growing digital demands

Today, businesses are facing increased pressure to keep pace with the rapid growth of big data and the Internet of Things (IoT). To support the new demands of these trends, IT environments are becoming highly distributed and converged and must be flexible, easily repeatable and quickly deployable. However, for organizations utilizing Cisco UCS servers, their choice of physical infrastructure support solutions has been greatly limited: until now, pre-racked Cisco UCS servers were authorized for shipment in Cisco R Series racks only. This reduced the ability of organizations to optimize the physical infrastructure in a Cisco UCS converged system, increasing complexity and time to market. It also restricted business for partners.

Partnering to fulfill time, simplification needs

As alliance partners, APC and Cisco are fulfilling channel partners’ and customers’ needs for a complete, reliable, repeatable and quickly deployable solution that enables Certainty in a Connected World. By working together on a proven system and reference design, the onus of responsibility on channel partners and customers to ensure system compatibility is removed, reducing overall costs and time. Additionally, the certification of NetShelter SX further enables a wide range of APC by Schneider Electric IT physical infrastructures, including seamless power and cooling integration with InfraStruxure modular, scalable architecture for data centers and the Micro Data Center Xpress for edge computing environments, currently available in North America, U.K. and France, and in all of Europe later in 2017.

“As businesses face the growing challenge of balancing increasingly complex IT systems with faster speed to market requirements, it is more important than ever for vendors to work together to provide their channel partners and customers with the most simplified, easily deployable solution that fulfills today’s connectivity and certainty needs,” said Rob McKernan, senior vice president, Europe and France Operations, IT Division, Schneider Electric. “Through this alliance with Cisco—and through all our alliances—APC is strengthening its commitment to delivering market-leading power protection, reliability and simplicity for increasingly sophisticated computing architectures.”
