Schneider Electric Broadens Its Pelco Line of Thermal Imaging IP Cameras

The Sarix TI Series is designed for integrated outdoor applications, especially in government scenario installations.

Adding to its Pelco line of thermal imaging IP cameras, Schneider Electric has announced the availability of its high-resolution Sarix Thermal Imaging IP camera.

Built on the Sarix technology platform, the Thermal Imaging (TI) IP camera is a digital end-to-end IP solution designed to enable easy integration with a variety of third-party systems. It is ideal of security applications in government settings.

The high-resolution Sarix TI Series IP camera offers such customizable analytics as counting and loitering detection. It also comes stocked with a sun shroud and heater/defroster that can sustain operating in a temperature range of -40o to 122o Fahrenheit.

The cameras are available in fixed or pan/tilt enclosures designed for outdoor deployment and offer protection beyond four miles when outfitted with a 100mm lens. In addition to the 100mm lens, the camera is also available with four other lens configurations: 6.25mm, 14.25mm, 35mm and 50mm focal lengths.

Delivering up to 640×480 thermal video resolution, these positioning and fixed cameras provide sensitivity below 50 milliKelvins at f/1.0 and are capable of multiple display formats, including white hot, black hot, and various color signatures. The Sarix TI maintains a full sensor dynamic range (16 bits) and keeps the signal in the digital domain for all image and analytics processing rather than converting to an analog signal.

This series also allows up to two simultaneous video streams in IP installations.† †

“The new Sarix TI Series high-resolution IP cameras offer protection for high demand security installations,” says David Dorn, Schneider’s director of thermal imaging. “The cameras come equipped with video analytics, enabling security directors instant access to information through an automatic alarm system based on pre-defined, user-provided rules and configurations. Alarms can be delivered via pop-ups, smart phones, email, etc.”

In addition to the high-resolution 640×480 camera, the Sarix TI Series is currently available in two other models: 240×184 (low-resolution camera) and 384×288 (mid-resolution camera).
