Automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) developer ScanSource POS & Barcode has announced the addition of Motorola Solutions WLAN Cloud Services to its solutions offerings.
ScanSource POS & Barcode is the first distributor to offer Motorola’s WLAN Cloud Services. Through this relationship, ScanSource resellers are able to assist their end-user customers with the management of their WLAN networks from a hosted controller.
“Resellers can now enhance their managed services offering and uncover new opportunities for yearly recurring revenue,” states a ScanSource press release submitted to ChannelPro-SMB.
According to ScanSource, resellers can deliver wireless solutions as a service in order to provide alternative options to their end-user customers who “do not want to tie up capital in appliances, controller or software license purchases” and instead prefer an operating expense model.†
ScanSource will be providing Motorola’s WLAN planner, WiNG controller, Wireless Intrusion Prevention, and WLAN Network Assurance cloud service solutions.
“In support of the burgeoning wireless and mobility market, we recently announced MobilETC, a mobility education, training, certification, and partnering program for our reseller partners who are looking to sell, deploy, and support mobile solutions,” says ScanSource POS & Barcode president Paul Constantine.†
