A Peek at the OCZ Vector SSD Series

The three new options are designed to empower your PC’s performance.

Earlier this year, the OCZ Technology Group, Inc. was showing off a new crop of solid-state drives (SSDs). The company says that its Vector SSD Series for PCI Express (PCIe) is now shipping.

The hook on the PCIe-based Vector SSD Series is that it includes the Indilinx Barefoot 3 controller, which has received all sorts of accolades for performance and features. It also boasts a better input/output operations per second (IOPS) burst performance and delivers “real-world” sustained performance, regardless of whether the data streams are in compressed or uncompressed formats.

This one is really designed for all of you power users out there. It also works well with content creation and workstation applications. Other features include lower latency to data, faster file transfers and boot-ups, expanded storage, and a more responsive experience overall.

Designed to support Windows-based laptops, desktops, and workstations, the Vector SSD Series has an advanced suite of flash management tools and is rated for up to 100,000 random read and 95,000 random write IOPS. In other words, the Vector PCI-e SSD can be used in a wide range of computing environments over an extended lifetime.

All Vector SSDs come bundled with a 3.5-inch desktop adapter bracket and the Acronis True Image cloning software registration key so that you can easily transfer data from your old hard drive. Available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB versions, Vector prices range from $159.99 to $599.99.
