As if things weren’t tough enough in the channel, VARs will now compete for customers with PC Mall, the Web retailer.
PC Mall is stepping up its outreach to SMBs. It announced this week the launch of its PC Mall Small Business Network Supreme Office Makeover contest.
The Supreme Office Makeover features a prize for businesses with 11 to 100 employees valued up to $17,500 and a prize for businesses with one to 10 employees valued up to $7,000. The Makeover includes PCs, notebooks, printers, small business networking equipment, back-up software and more. The featured products are manufactured by top technology companies including Cisco, HP, VMWare, Symantec, Lenovo, Quantum, Lexmark, Ricoh, Iogear, PNY, and Cyberpower.
Contest entrants will become registered members of PC Mall’s Small Business Network, an online community comprised of small businesses and IT professionals. PC Mall’s Small Business Network includes business experts, discussion groups, blogs, and a knowledge bank full of SMB information. PC Mall SBN members can also advertise their services for free to other small businesses, network with other small business owners, and receive member discounts on technology products. Membership in the network is free.
The network was launched in Q4 2009 and has over 30,000 members.
The contest runs until Nov. 30, 2010.
