Passportal’s New Community Department Expands Education Outreach and Enhances Partner Enablement for MSPs Worldwide

Channel Leader and MSP Educator Mike Byrne Joins Security Innovator as Director of Community

Passportal announced the formation of its new Community Department, as well as the appointment of†Mike Byrne, a channel leader with more than a decade of specialized experience in MSP education and enablement.

The new Community Department focuses exclusively on the education and enablement of Passportal’s growing global community of more than 1,500 MSPs; and is led by Byrne who joined Passportal earlier this month. As Director of Community, Byrne reports to Passportal CEO Colin Knox, and is responsible for the day-to-day objectives of the Community Department. He also serves as Passportal’s industry advocate and master educator and is now working directly with Passportal’s Partner Advisory Council to influence the software-as-a-service (SaaS) innovation cycle, engagement programs, and ongoing support Passportal brings to its MSP partners.

“With Byrne at the helm of our new Community Department, Passportal is scaling its success and doing what we do best:† Listening to and supporting our MSP partners with the solutions, services and resources needed to expand their business and keep their company and clients secure with the latest security measures around password security and documentation management,” said Colin Knox, Founder & CEO, Passportal.

Passportal is experiencing explosive growth and expansion in the U.S. and Canada, as well as worldwide. “IT security has become a service no business can or should be without,” noted Knox. “By investing in a Community Department and dedicated leadership, we are empowering our channel partners with the technology, talent and insights needed to provide exceptional service and managed IT security to clients of all sizes and within any industry.”

Before joining Passportal, Byrne served the IT channel in a number of leadership roles including Director of Field & Managed Services at PacketTrap, Group Manager of Channel Services at GFI Software, and was formerly a Senior Partner Development Specialist at N-able Technologies, now known as SolarWinds MSP. Byrne specializes in partner education and enablement, helping MSPs increase profits by delivering more value and expanding their managed services capabilities.†Byrne is a well-known channel speaker and has been awarded several industry accolades throughout his career including being named one of the industry’s Top 250 Most Influential People and CRN Channel Chief.

“Byrne’s energy, knowledge, and passion for the industry, combined his relentless desire to help MSPs evolve and grow fits perfectly into Passportal’s culture and objectives,” said Dan Wensley, Passportal President. “The impact and value Password Security and Documentation Management brings to MSPs mirrors the value and impact both RMM and PSA sol utions have had on our industry over time. We are thrilled to welcome Byrne to the team and to watch our Community Department grow and thrive.”

“Passportal helps MSPs build a better, more secure service model that prioritizes security and works to keep their passwords and documentation, as well as their clients, protected on all fronts,” says Byrne.†”Passportal stands alone in the channel landscape and continues to have a powerful and profound impact on the MSP industry. I am hitting the ground running and look forward to working with Colin, Dan and team to further inspire and enable MSPs to leverage Passportal’s Ocular Platform and best practices to better service the needs of their clients.
