Data loss prevention innovator Palisade Systems announced this week that cloud services providers and mobile device vendors can now integrate DLP functionality into their products and solutions using Palisade’s PacketSure Enterprise DLP solutions or by leveraging the Palisade SDK (Software Development Kit).
With the release of Palisade PacketSure Cloud Security and Palisade PacketSure Mobile Security, Palisade is providing cloud service providers and mobile device vendors with a tool for moving key applications and data to the Web.
“With the continued movement toward cloud deployments, we realize the need to protect data wherever it resides to minimize risk and meet compliance regulations,” says Palisade CEO Spencer Snedecor. “We’ve been working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to deliver full enterprise DLP capabilities in this environment to secure sensitive data and have had solutions running in AWS for months.”
Palisade first delivered a cloud-based security solution as part of the Amazon Web Service (AWS) Solution Provider Program. Palisade provides full DLP functionality for Web and email security for Amazon customers who have Web, email and/or database servers in EC2 or Virtual Public Cloud (VPC) environments. Palisade’s PacketSure Enterprise DLP enables channel pros to monitor data of all types, analyze it for sensitive content, and enforce corporate information security policies to prevent unauthorized use or transmission of confidential data.
PacketSure Mobile and Cloud Security solutions include Palisade’s data capture and policy enforcement engine for monitoring, analyzing, and enforcing data security policies. The solutions also provide reporting and documentation for regulatory compliance purposes.
“This type of DLP offering is ideal for finance and healthcare providers, as well as government and educational entities seeking to leverage the scalability and flexibility of the cloud, while minimizing the risk of data exposure or data leaks,” states Palisade in a press release submitted to Channel Pro-SMB.
Palisade PacketSure Mobile Security Palisade is also engaged with Mobile device providers to protect sensitive corporate data and enable mobility for non-sensitive corporate data. Palisade’s SDK enables mobile device providers to address the increased security risks that are developing due to the expansion of mobile computing capabilities.
PacketSure DLP technology is integrated into compartmentalized mobile security solutions, and enables scanning of all data to ensure corporate data has not leaked. PacketSure DLP works by monitoring content as it flows from mobile devices over the network into the company, or to a Web or cloud application. It inspects the content to ensure that it doesn’t contain any sensitive data that violates company information security policies and enforces companies’ data security policies.
Palisade customers and partners can currently use the Beta version by contacting Palisade directly until general availability is announced in Q1 2012. Palisade says pricing will be “consistent with its current offerings.”
