OpenText Defines the Future of Enterprise Information Management with Next-Generation OpenText OT2 Platform

Hybrid-Cloud Platform Enables Developer-Ready Microservices Allowing Customers and Partners to Deliver Intelligent and Connected Applications

OpenText (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTEX), the global leader in†Enterprise Information Management (EIM), announced the release of OpenText OT2, the next-generation hybrid-cloud platform from OpenText that brings together intelligent automation, security, and EIM applications in a powerful unified platform.

“OpenText is the leader in Enterprise Information Management, both on-premises and for cloud services. Customers are looking to move faster into the cloud. Today, all industries are looking for a stable and secure hybrid-cloud infrastructure for their information management, including sectors such as manufacturing, financial services, legal, life sciences, and government, for whom public cloud deployments once seemed impossible,” said†Mark J. Barrenechea, vice-chair, CEO and CTO, OpenText. “Today, we are yet again redefining the EIM market with the launch of OpenText OT2, our flexible, hybrid platform for EIM services and application deployment.”

Barrenechea continues, “OpenText OT2 simplifies technology investment decisions by delivering compelling applications for business users — hybrid-cloud based EIM applications supported by modern micro-services – all on a single SaaS platform. Applications in OpenText OT2 will be tightly integrated with OpenText Release 16. Whether securely sharing information internally and externally by integrating OpenText Core and OpenText Documentum, or managing contracts by integrating Contract Center and OpenText Extended ECM, customers will get a single solution from OpenText.”

With a unified data model and a standard user interface, OpenText OT2 enables developers to rapidly build SaaS applications in the OpenText Cloud. OpenText OT2 brings together micro-services for content collaboration, security, process automation, and analytics, enabling customers and partners to rapidly develop and deploy powerful business applications to drive digital transformation further into their operations.

“We are leveraging our deep knowledge of building EIM products to deliver a self-service, hybrid platform. OpenText OT2 will allow our customers and partners to access pre-built hybrid applications that integrate deeply with their existing OpenText solutions,” said Muhi Majzoub, EVP, Engineering and Cloud Services, Opentext. “Developers can use either low-code or native development environments to build custom applications hours rather weeks.”

The OpenText OT2 platform, available now, will develop with quarterly releases, with all applications being tightly integrated with OpenText Release 16.

OpenText OT2 applications launching at Enterprise World 2018†

In his keynote address at Enterprise World, Muhi Majzoub, Executive Vice President, Engineering and IT at OpenText will preview the first generation of transformative applications built on the OpenText OT2 platform.

“On the Enterprise World stage last year, we launched OpenText People Center and committed to delivering additional apps built on the OpenText platform. This year we are showcasing OpenText Quality, an application designed to meet the needs of the highly-regulated life sciences industry and OpenText Legal, a cloud EIM app that integrates with OpenText eDOCS to manage client onboarding and document sharing,” said Majzoub. “Today’s launch marks OpenText’s arrival as a true applications and platform company. We invite developers and customers to join with us to create the next generation of intelligent and connected applications to create new ways of working, collaborating and doing business.”

Deepening collaboration with OpenText partners†

OpenText is opening its cloud infrastructure to select members of its partner ecosystem. This will enable the world’s most innovative global systems integrators to create and market applications on the OpenText cloud, helping to further extend OpenText’s global reach. With the support of our partner ecosystem, more customers in more markets will have access to the advanced Enterprise Information Management applications from OpenText.

OpenText OT2 is available immediately. OpenText Quality and OpenText Legal will be generally available in the second half of 2018.
