New USB-C Mulitport Adapters Prevent Data Disruptions when Switching Power Sources

Power Delivery 3.0 with Fast Role Swap technology eliminates USB data interruptions due to power switching

StarTech.com continues to expand its multiport adapter product line with the release of three new USB-C multiport adapters that turn laptops into mobile workstations. These adapters (DKT30CHVSCPD,†DKT30CHCPD, and†DKT30CSDHPD3) provide essential ports for monitors, TVs, and projectors in meeting rooms or workspaces, networking and data connectivity as well as the latest innovation in laptop charging, Power Delivery 3.0.

Power Delivery 3.0 (PD 3.0) takes USB power delivery to the next level by introducing Fast Role Swap which prevents USB data disruption when switching power sources. Users of these adapters can switch from charging a PD 3.0 equipped laptop to bus power without interrupting workflow or data transfer.

For their size, these multiport adapters pack a big punch, providing a lot of power in a small compact device. Ideal for the road warrior, the adapters are plug and play and provide essential connections that allow users to create a workstation virtually anywhere. All of the adapters are universally compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C laptops using either Mac or Windows OS platforms. While they include much of the same connectivity options, they each have their own unique features to meet the needs of different types of users.

DKT30CHVSCPD†is feature rich and includes connectivity options that customers may struggle to find in their new, modern devices. With SD and microSD card reader slots, which can be used simultaneously, users can easily move data from one card to another with one convenient adapter. While their data is transferring, users can Fast-Charge their mobile device via one of three USB 3.0 ports included. This adapter also offers both 4K HDMI and VGA display options to enable connections to modern or legacy monitors and projectors. When it’s time to change workstations, users can tuck the wrap-around cable away for safe storage while traveling with the adapter to their next location.

DKT30CHCPD†is perfect for the road warrior who demands more power. Providing 100W PD 3.0, this adapter will keep power-hungry laptops charged and eliminate data transfer headaches if power delivery is interrupted, all while connecting you to your essential peripherals. It’s plug-and-play capabilities, size and wrap-around cable create an easy connection when in use and reliable protection when traveling.

DKT30CSDHPD3†offers a bit of everything including the ports that are hard to find in a modern-day laptop. With an SD card reader, three USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet and 4K HDMI display, this adapter provides you with just enough power, ports and portability to enable all your connectivity needs on the go from one small device.

“This new series of USB-C multiport adapters incorporates the latest laptop charging technology while also integrating the connectivity options users look for when their device is port deficient,” explains Nirav Gandhi, Vice President of Product Development at StarTech.com. “We included SD card readers because they’re missing from popular ultra slim laptops such as MacBook Pro and certain PC models. The adapters are also plug and play to ensure that they are easy to use with minimal set up. The key feature, however, is the integration of Power Delivery 3.0. This technology helps to provide the optimal user experience by not only charging your device but also by eliminating data transfer disruptions due to power switching. These adapters were designed to put the customer and their connectivity needs first.”
