APC by Schneider Electric announced the next generation of its NetBotz security monitoring products this week. The products are now integrated with NetBotz Rack Access control.
New features of the NetBotz 4.0 include increased interoperability with other products, improved configuration and scalability, new management capabilities, and increased security.
“NetBotz is the only solution that combines environmental monitoring, video surveillance, and rack access in a single platform,” says APC in a statement submitted to Channel Pro-SMB. “It provides complete protection of IT assets from a network closet to the data center environment.”
The new NetBotz solutions feature a user interface that enables administrators to configure data center access directly from Schneider Electric’s InfraStruxure Central management software while also providing authentication for APC NetShelter SX.
The latest iteration of NetBotz features:
- Mass Configuration — Up to 130 rack doors can be handled within a single user interface, eliminating the need to configure each door separately. Administrators can configure access for individual employees, schedule access to equipment for maintenance purposes, and view an audit trail.
- Compatibility with Multiple Rack Solution — offers customers the ability to integrate remote and local access within Chatsworth GlobalFrame enclosures, as well as APC NetShelter SX enclosures.
- Single IP Address — Up to 26 doors and 200 credentials will use one IP address, reducing the total cost of ownership.
- “Basement” Mounting — Rather than occupying rack space, an area below the bottom U in an APC NetShelter SX rack will house NetBotz hardware.
The new NetBotz is priced at $1,395 per 2-door/2-handle kit. A new Post Configuration Insight service also is available, which provides a structured hand-over from the network integration engineer to the customer.
