Power and cooling innovator APC by Schneider Electric has broadened the abilities of its Symmetra PX 250/500 kW three-phase modular and hot scalable uninterruptible power supply (UPS) with the release of new firmware.
The new firmware ships standard on all Symmetra PX 250/500 kW units, enabling parallel delivery of up to 2 MW of power protection or 1.5 MW in a system level redundancy (N?) configuration.
The Symmetra PX250 /500 kW provides scalability and availability up to 2000 kW, giving customers flexibility to scale data centers.
The Symmetra PX 250 /500 kW offers a modular, hot-scalable system consisting of dedicated and redundant modules. Each system is scalable in 25 kW increments up to 500 kW with the ability to run up to four systems in parallel to provide 2 MW of redundant power protection.
In addition to all the current features and capabilities of the Symmetra PX 250/500 kW, the release of this new firmware adds the following capabilities:
- Parallel Up to Four Units for 2,000 kW or 1.5 MW in an N? system configuration
- Energy monitoring calculations and display
- Multi-language support
- Shortened recharge time
According to APC, the Symmetra PX 250/500 kW can also be managed through APC’s InfraStruxure Management Software Portfolio and can be integrated into data centers through built-in management software, including InfraStruxure Designer, Central, Capacity Manager, and server access support.
