Kyocera Mita America Adds Two TASKalfa Black and White MFPs to Portfolio

Multifunction printers boast 150,000 page drum yield, standard network print and copy, and optional network scan and fax.

Fairfield, N.J.-based Kyocera Mita America has expaned its TASKalfa line of multifunctional products with the introduction of the TASKalfa 221 (22 pages per minute) and TASKalfa 181 (18 ppm) black and white MFPs designed for SMBs and shared workgroup environments.

The TASKalfa 221 includes two 300-sheet paper drawers, a 100-sheet multi-purpose tray (MPT), while the TASKalfa 181 features a single 300-sheet paper drawer and 100-sheet MPT. Both models include standard network printing and offer optional black and white scanning and fax capabilities.

“Our goal has always been to offer ultra-reliable, high-quality, and dependable products that increase productivity and improve performance,”†says William Cassidy, associate director, product and solutions marketing, Kyocera Mita America.†”The TASKalfa 221 and TASKalfa 181 exceed these objectives and deliver exceptional results.†Whether printing, copying, scanning, or faxing, the TASKalfa 221 and TASKalfa 181 are designed to improve the end-user experience with every task.”

The TASKalfa 221/181 series is built with Kyocera’s long-life consumable technology, including the company’s organic photoconductor (OPC) drum technology to deliver a 150,000-page preventive maintenance (PM) schedule.†This PM cycle creates longer intervals of time between required service visits and helps minimize maintenance costs for end users, according to the company.

Standard network print includes a PowerPC440/500 MHz processor and 1200-dpi print resolution. The TASKalfa 221/181 both support multiple page description languages, including Kyocera’s PRESCRIBE, PCL 6 (XL, 5e) and KPDL3 (PS3), and can be connected in any Windows, Mac, or Linux environment.

The TASKalfa 221/181 offers an optional 50-sheet document processor rated at 22 images per minute, paper output options including a 30-sheet finisher and additional 300-sheet paper drawer options.

Both devices support a variety of network and device management tools, including KMnet Admin, KMnet for Accounting, KMnet Viewer, and Status Monitor.†The TASKalfa 221/181 include PDF Direct Print capability, a software utility that allows users to send PDF documents directly to the device without the need to open individual files in Adobe Acrobat.

The TASKalfa 221 and TASKalfa 181 are available through authorized Kyocera Mita dealers at an MSRP of $2,930 and $2,565 respectively.†
