Ingram Micro Signs Distribution Agreement with Horizon Display to Take Interactive Digital Signage to the IT Channel

Agreement enables solution providers to capitalize on the growing market for large-format touch screen displays.

Addressing IT solution provider demand for large touch screen technology, Santa Ana, Calif.-based Ingram Micro, Inc. has announced an exclusive U.S. distribution agreement with Horizon Display, of Lake Forest, Calif., that includes a diverse and growing portfolio of interactive display solutions.

The agreement marks the first broadline distribution agreement for Horizon Display and further strengthens the Ingram Micro Digital Signage Division’s position as a source for high-demand large touch screen displays used in interactive digital signage applications.

“With its proven expertise in the digital signage arena and broad reach into the partner community, Ingram Micro represents the ideal distribution partner for our growing channel strategy,” says Kurt Johnson, CEO of Horizon Display. “As the digital signage market moves quickly to adopt interactivity, we see tremendous upside in building our business together and enabling solution providers in the U.S. to take advantage of our technology.”

Horizon Display’s “behind the bezel” optical touch solution is fully integrated into the display, with screen sizes up to 103 inches. Horizon Display also offers 3M DST touch solutions, providing a large touch screen portfolio for a variety of interactive digital signage needs.

“Interactive digital signage use is on the rise as users become more familiar with touch screens and advertisers explore new ways to provide a personalized experience to consumers,” says Kevin Prewett, vice president, Digital Signage Division and vendor management, Ingram Micro U.S. “The opportunity for our channel partners to sell this type of touch technology into retail kiosks, wayfinders, and many other public-facing applications is growing and will continue to be in high demand.”
