Ingram Micro Offers On-Demand Training Programs to Vendors

The distributor’s new “Training-Development-as-a-Service” program allows vendors to deliver e-learning, e-training, and partner enablement resources to their channel partners more easily.

Ingram Micro Inc. has launched a “Training-Development-as-a-Service” program designed to help vendors deliver†e-learning, e-training, and partner enablement resources to their channel partners more easily.

The Irvine, Calif.-based distributor will develop, deliver, and manage the new offering through its†Flexible Integrated Training (FIT) portfolio. Materials will be available in†3D learning and lab environments, as well as FIT Game-Based Learning and immersive†FIT LIVE formats.†

Empowering solution providers and MSPs to advance their business is critically important to the growth, health, and value of the IT channel, according to Greg Richey, Ingram’s director of professional and training services.

“Demand for more advanced and readily available e-learning and e-training is rising, but for many vendors, supply is falling short of partners’ needs and expectations for a variety of reasons including bandwidth and budget constraints,” he says in prepared remarks. “Our new Training-Development-as-a-Service program resolves this challenge by developing and delivering the e-learning and e-training resources channel partners want on behalf of the IT vendors.”

Available globally, Ingram Micro Training-Development-as-a-Service has been tailored to the needs of both emerging and established vendors looking to bring real-time, relevant training programs to market rapidly. Hewlett Packard Enterprise, of Palo Alto, Calif., and Armonk, N.Y.-based IBM are two of many vendors to leverage customized channel education programs from Ingram Micro Professional Services in the past.

The Ingram Micro Professional and Training Services team will be spotlighting several new programs and services at the upcoming Ingram Micro ONE event taking place in Dallas, Texas, Nov. 27 to 30.

Both as-a-service offerings and enablement services have figured prominently in news from Ingram Micro this year. The distributor introduced an expanded “technology as a service” program in May, for example, and an enablement program for would-be resellers of Microsoft Azure services in June.
