Ingram Micro Adds to Data Capture/Point of Sale Offerings, Appoints Jeff Yelton to Lead North America Efforts

Ingram Micro Inc. has revealed its data capture/POS business is differentiating and expanding its channel partner value-add on five strategic technology pillars. These include payments, mobility, networking, omni-channel retailing, and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions.

In support of these efforts, Ingram Micro has named industry expert Jeff Yelton as the new executive director and general manager of its North America data capture/POS business. Yelton brings more than 30 years of channel and industry-specific experience to Ingram Micro, and previously served as the president of ScanSource POS and Barcode.

“Ingram Micro is spearheading several strategic technology, solutions and partner enablement initiatives within the data capture/POS space that will deliver greater competitive advantage and invigorate our channel partners to provide additional insight and value to the small and mid-size businesses they serve,” says Jay Miley, vice president and general manager, Ingram Micro Advanced Technology Division. “Under Yelton’s leadership we will become a more strategic business partner and change agent to channel partners who want to deliver a complete solution that stems from the core to edge of the network.”

Ingram Micro data capture/POS is showcasing its expanded portfolio of vendors, services, and solutions at the ONE Ingram Micro event this week in Las Vegas. Among the solutions being demonstrated at the event include the Ingram Micro data capture/POS “One Hop Ice Cream Store” and “TECHtrendz Retail Store.” Open to ONE attendees, both storefronts will feature a number of in-demand technologies including digital signage, home office equipment, office conference center solutions, physical security, POS solutions, and printing options, as well as select workout accessories.
