Infinitely Virtual Broadens Support for InfiniteApp

The cloud server computing services provider adds support for Windows 8 Remote Desktop Protocol and Dell vWorkspace 7.6.

Cloud server computing services provider Infinitely Virtual has upgraded its InfiniteApp product, adding support for Windows 8 Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) and Dell vWorkspace 7.6, Dell’s desktop virtualization platform.

InfiniteApp is Infinitely Virtual’s application virtualization platform. InfiniteApp enables users to stream applications directly from the cloud, save data in the cloud or on a local computer, and access applications and data from Windows, Linux, Mac, iPad or Android devices.

InfiniteApp is powered by Infinitely Virtual’s proprietary Enterprise Virtualization Environment (E.V.E.), which includes features like clustered NetApp SAN with RAID-DP, VMware HA clustering, clustered Juniper firewalls, and a 100 percent uptime guarantee.

With Microsoft’s Remote Desktop Connection under RDP, users can work at a PC and connect to another PC in a different location. A user might, for example, connect to a work PC from a home PC and use all of his or her apps, files, and network resources as if he or she were sitting right in front of the work PC. Users can leave apps open at work and then see those same apps on the home PC.

Dell’s vWorkspace desktop virtualization technology enables users to deploy any of several application virtualization technologies—hosted virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), offline/local VDI, Terminal Server/RD Session Host (TS/RDSH) and Blade—based on their unique needs, while keeping the average cost per virtual desktop to a minimum. Load balancing and integrated user-experience monitoring help to ensure the best virtual desktop performance for all users, regardless of endpoint device or platform.

“InfiniteApp is a robust, evolving environment that was built to operate effectively with the latest iterations of application virtualization products from players like Microsoft and Dell,” says Infinitely Virtual CEO Adam Stern. “Working together, these enhancements offer small and mid-size businesses an even more interactive hosting experience, enabling users to connect from anywhere, from any hosting device, any time. Users can get their work done wherever they are. They can see all their remote connections in the home screen and open them with a single touch, or connect to multiple remote desktops at the same time, or keep an eye on different sessions while they multitask. This is the new face of Infrastructure-as-a-Service in a ‘bring your own device’ (BYOD) world.”
