HP has rolled out new desktop, notebook, and display solutions targeting SMBs who need affordability, productivity, and mobility. These follow on the heels of two HP Chromebooks announced earlier, also targeted at SMBs.
For mobile users, the HP 300 G1 series notebooks (pricing to be available soon) deliver business-class features and durable construction. A spill-resistant keyboard and HP 3D DriveGuard, which protects the hard drive if it’s dropped or banged, safeguard the notebook for on-the-go users. HP CoolSense technology automatically adjusts the notebook’s temperature based on usage and conditions, so it lasts longer. In addition, the 300 G1 notebooks feature Intel i Core dual-core processors, a-band WLAN, built-in DVD drive options, essential ports, HP TrueVision HD Webcam, and a user-replaceable battery.
Aimed at small businesses on a budget (pricing to be available soon), the HP 200 G1 series notebooks feature the Intel i3 Core processor or AMD Dual and Quad Core APU technologies. The HD display offers optional BrightView or AntiGlare panels and integrated graphics. The preinstalled Cyberlink software enables high-quality multimedia. The 200 series notebooks also offer optional Wi-Fi Certified WLAN, with McAfee Internet Security 2013.
For SMBs looking for desktops, the HP ProDesk 400 G1 series starts at under $499, and offers a choice of the latest AMD or Intel processor technology, plus advanced graphics. SMBs can choose between microtower (MT) or small form factor (SFF) chassis that can be upgraded and expanded as business needs change. The MT option comes with five drive bays and up to 10 external USB ports.
The HP ProDesk 400 series also comes with HP Client Security, which integrates hardware-, software-, and BIOS-based solutions. This security portfolio includes a self-encrypting hard drive and HP Trust Circles, which means that only the contacts you approve can access shared data files.
The ProDesk 400 series is engineered with recycled materials that are 90 percent recyclable, and power supplies are up to 85 percent efficient, earning the systems ENERGY STARÆ 6 qualification, EPEAT Gold certification, EuP Lot6, and more. The platforms include a parts/labor/on-site warranty and parts availability for up to three years.
Also new, the HP new ProDisplay P231 (starting at $185) features a 23-inch diagonal screen, 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, 5-ms response time, 3M:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and both VGA and DVI inputs. The integrated 100-mm standard VESA pattern supports wall mounting with HP Quick Release. You can also customize resizable screen partitions and work in documents, spreadsheets, and e-mail in separate regions of the screen-at the same time. HP Display Assistant software enables you to view open applications on all of your connected displays with the expanded toolbar.
Finally, in an earlier related announcement, HP introduced two Chromebooks targeted for SMBs. Starting at $279.99, the HP Chromebook11 and Chromebook14 offer 11- or 14-inch diagonal HD display, respectively, built-in optional 3G or 4G connectivity, and up to 100GB of Google Drive Storage.
