Guidance Software Announces EnCaseÆ Mobile Investigator

The gold standard in digital investigations, now available for mobile

May 09, 2017 08:00 AM Eastern Daylight Time

PASADENA, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Guidance Software, the makers of EnCaseÆ, the gold standard in forensic security, today announced the launch of EnCase Mobile Investigator. Corporate and law enforcement investigators can now leverage the unmatched visibility of EnCase to collect and analyze data from all major smartphones, tablets, and many other mobile device types.

“The number of mobile devices investigated each year has increased nearly tenfold over the past decade,” said Ken Basore, senior vice president of product engineering at Guidance. “Organizations, agencies, and courtrooms increasingly rely on the information inside smartphones and tablets, even devices like Amazon Echo and fitness trackers, to provide vital evidence. Whereas investigators previously needed more than one tool to find evidence on multiple device types, EnCase has raised the bar by providing a single solution with the flexibility, visibility, and court-proven history digital forensic investigations demand.”

Also on Tuesday, Guidance announced the release of EnCase Forensic and EnCase Endpoint Investigator 8.05. With these releases, investigators can securely acquire critical evidence from cell phones and smartphones from Apple, BlackBerry, Android, and Windows, as well as tablets, GPS devices, and other media devices. EnCase Mobile Investigator works in tandem with Guidance investigation solutions, empowering users to analyze text messages, photos, e-mails, app data, deleted data, and other crucial information.

Guidance Software products are the trusted standard in digital investigations, accepted in courts around the world, and investigators have long demanded a more complete mobile solution from Guidance. With these new offerings, investigators can now rapidly acquire data from a variety of traditional and mobile devices, identify potential evidence through deep forensic analysis, and produce detailed and accurate reports.

EnCaseÆ Mobile Investigator, EnCase Endpoint Investigator version 8.05, and EnCase Forensic version 8.05 are anticipated to be available for general availability in late June.
