GIGABYTE Presents New C230 Series Server and Workstation Motherboards for Skylake Xeon

The workstation and server motherboards for Intel’s Xeon E3-1200 v5 product family will be available in ATX and mini ITX form factors.

GIGABYTE Technology, a manufacturer of high performance server hardware, has introduced a new lineup of motherboards based on the new Intel†C230 series†chipset family. Supporting the new Intel†Xeon†Processor E3-1200 V5 product family (former codename Greenlow) and designed with the Skylake microarchitecture, this new lineup includes two workstation motherboards and two server motherboards.

MW31-SP0 – 2-Way Graphics Workstation Board

The MW31-SP0 is the company’s first ATX workstation motherboard supporting the†Intel†Xeon†processor E3-1200 V5†product family. The motherboard features:

  • 4 x DDR4 DIMM slots supporting up to 64GB of ECC memory
  • 2 x GbE LAN ports (Intel†I210 + I219LM controllers)†
  • 2-way†NVIDIA†SLI &†AMD†CrossFireX†support
  • Rear I/O add-on card slot
  • 1 x M.2 slot
  • 8 x SATA III 6Gb/s ports

MW21-SE0 – Entry Level Workstation†Board

The MW21-SE0 is a microATX form factor entry-level workstation board with minimal specifications for users looking for a simple yet durable solution to access the features of the Xeon E3-1200 V3 product family. It includes:

  • 4 x DDR4 DIMM slots supporting up to 64GB of ECC memory
  • 1 x GbE LAN port (Intel†I219LM controller)
  • 6 x SATA III 6Gb/s ports
  • 1 x PCIe x16 (Gen3 x16 bus) connector
  • 4 x USB 3.0 ports
  • 2 USB 3.0 + 2 x USB 2.0 ports via headers

MX11-PC0 – Compact NVMe Enabled Server Board

The MX11-PC0 is a Mini-ITX form factor server motherboard built for high density or low-profile server integration and provides all the features required to build a professional server, including comprehensive integrated remote management features via IPMI 2.0 web interface.

Additionally, it is the first GIGABYTE server motherboard to be released with a mini-SAS HD†connector capable to connect to†one NVMe drive. With higher IOPS, lower latency, and lower power consumption, the NVMe technology is designed to deliver faster data transfer performance between a storage device and the processor.
