Get Ready for a Steady Stream of NETGEAR Announcements

The networking company will introduce new routers, range extenders, and IP cameras.

Live from CES in Las Vegas this week, networking innovator NETGEAR is expected to introduce several new key products. They include WiFi cable modem routers, WiFi range extenders, and wireless IP cameras. Plus, the router company sheds light on its partnership with Facebook.

WiFi Cable Modem Routers

NETGEAR is introducing a family of DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem router products designed to provide SMBs with faster Internet and WiFi.

  • AC1750 WiFi Cable Modem Router (C6300) — The NETGEAR AC1750 WiFi Cable Modem Router (C6300) is a gateway combining the fastest cable modem speeds of up to 680 Mbps with Gigabit WiFi speeds of up to 1750 Mbps.
  • NETGEAR N450 WiFi Cable Modem Router — The NETGEAR N450 WiFi Cable Modem Router is a gateway offering cable modem speeds up to 340Mbps, with the fastest 2.4GHz WiFi speed and performance up to 450 Mbps.

WiFi Range Extenders

NETGEAR is also debuting two CES Innovations Award honorees: the AC1200 High Power WiFi Range Extender (EX6200) and the AC750 WiFi Range Extender (EX6100). Both are ideal for boosting range of an existing network and eliminating frustrating WiFi dead zones. They also deliver WiFi performance for the new mobile devices demanding WiFi.

The AC750 WiFi Range Extender provides up to 750 Mbps 802.11ac WiFi performance in a wall-plug form factor, with Smart LED indicator lights.

The AC1200 High Power WiFi Range Extender supports latest generation 802.11ac WiFi technology with up to 1200 Mbps speed, 700mW high-power amplifiers, high-gain 5dBi external antennas, and a dual core processor (CPU).

Facebook WiFi

NETGEAR is teaming with Facebook to provide Facebook Wi-Fi to small businesses. The solution, Facebook Wi-Fi, is an application that enables merchants to provide free Internet access to their customers when they “check in” at the business’ Facebook Page.

The capability enables merchants to build closer relationships with customers by sharing offers and announcements directly from their Facebook page. Businesses also benefit from aggregate Facebook Page Insights about their customer base.

NETGEAR is making the Facebook Wi-Fi login available on its premium line of next-generation wireless routers supporting dual-band 802.11ac wireless.

IP Cameras

NETGEAR is launching multiple new products at CES that will become available for service provider deployment. These include a family of wireless IP cameras for home security systems providers. The Ocuity 100 Wireless IP Camera (HMNC100) offers 720p resolution HD video and leverages selectable dual-band 802.11n WiFi.

The NETGEAR Ocuity 500 Wireless IP Camera (HMNC500) is designed to combine high-quality HD video with breakthrough multifunction sensing and monitoring algorithms to extend the functionality of home monitoring and automation systems to go beyond video event alerts.

The NETGEAR NTV300D NeoMediacast HDMI Dongle is a full-featured, customizable platform that integrates the Android SDK, enabling telecommunications service providers to turn any TV into a Smart TV. Service providers use the latest Android applications to build their own “curated content store” of both premium and free Over-the-Top (OTT) content.
