Carbon Black Strengthens Relationship with VMware, Supports Workspace ONE Trust Network

Carbon Black’s Predictive Security Cloud (PSC) will integrate with industry’s first intelligence-driven digital workspace platform, VMware Workspace ONE

Carbon Black, the leader in next-generation endpoint security, announced support for the VMware Workspace ONE Trust Network, a new security approach that combines the industry’s first intelligence-driven digital workspace platform, Workspace ONE, with trusted security partner solutions to deliver predictive and automated security in the digital workspace.

This latest expansion of the Carbon Black / VMware collaboration builds on top of the†recently announced†VMware AppDefense and Cb Defense†joint offering, which aims to improve cloud and data center security.

As organizations move toward digital transformation, the digital workspace ecosystem of users, apps, endpoints, and networks continues to grow and evolve beyond the traditional perimeter. While the traditional perimeter dissolves, cyber threats advance and new ones emerge. As a result of this new threat landscape, security becomes even more integral and central to a modern digital workspace strategy.

As the industry’s first intelligence-driven digital workspace platform,†Workspace ONE†integrates insights across devices, users, and apps to enable predictive security across a digital workspace. The Workspace ONE Trust Network empowers organizations to better protect, detect, and remediate attacks by combining insights from Workspace ONE with a rich ecosystem of trusted partner solutions,†including Carbon Black.

As part of the Workspace ONE Trust Network approach, critical endpoint data, alerts, and events from Carbon Black’s next-generation antivirus (NGAV),†Cb Defense, and the†Cb Predictive Security Cloud (PSC), can be fed into and analyzed by Workspace ONE to enhance orchestration capabilities, analytics, and response/remediation.

“Carbon Black is committed to providing customers with the most effective and comprehensive security solutions on the market,” said Tom Barsi, Carbon Black’s SVP of business development. “With the combination of Cb Predictive Security Cloud and the Workspace ONE platform, and a commitment to openness and integrations, Carbon Black is empowering organizations with a modern approach to secure users, apps, endpoints, and networks.”

“Good security frameworks for the Digital Workspace need to rely on more than just protecting against threats. Organizations need proactive detection and immediate remediation capabilities and that’s why we’re excited Carbon Black will support the Workspace ONE Trust Network,” said Dave Grant, vice president of product marketing, End-User Computing, VMware. “The integration between the intelligence-driven Workspace ONE platform and Carbon Black will help give customers the continuous risk monitoring and mitigation response capabilities they need to meet the security requirements of today.”

Securing the Virtualized Data Center

Carbon Black and VMware†previously announced a collaboration†that aims to improve current approaches to cloud and data center security via a joint solution that dramatically shrinks an organization’s attack surface, while empowering security teams with automated threat detection and remediation to react faster and more effectively to attacks.

As part of the collaboration, VMware AppDefense customers have the ability to leverage Carbon Black’s PSC reputation services. The jointly-developed solution combines VMware AppDefense and†Cb Defense’s†advanced threat protection to provide a unique one-two punch for stopping threats to applications inside the data center.
