Asigra Unveils OpEX Backup Appliance Integrated with Zadara’s Enterprise Storage-as-a-Service

New Solution Combines Cybersecurity-Powered Asigra Cloud Backup with the Zadara Enterprise Storage-as-a-Service to Protect Business Data.

Asigra Inc., a leading cloud backup, recovery and restore software provider since 1986, announced the Asigra Cloud OpEX Backup Appliance. In partnership with Zadara, the new backup solution combines Asigra Cloud Backup V14 software with the Zadara Cloud Storage Platform, using industry-standard hardware and patented Zadara software to deliver enterprise-class speed, security, and scalability.

The Asigra Cloud OpEx Backup Appliance is a virtual backup solution that integrates Asigra Cloud Backup Software version 14 with the Zadara software-defined cloud storage platform available exclusively as a consumption-based service. The solution can be deployed on-premises, at a colocation facility or in the public cloud and converges data protection and cyber-security to counter malware attacks on backup data, including ransomware Attack-Loops[1]. With extensive automation, the Asigra Cloud OpEX Backup Appliance allows IT and backup administrators to easily and effectively safeguard business data using the solution’s powerful features, intuitive console that simplifies managed backup, and subscription-based pricing model to temper the costs of backup and recovery.

“Data protection administrators are moving toward more impactful solutions that address the most pressing IT issues today, including the high capital costs of IT and threats that impact business continuity,” said George Crump, Founder and Principal Analyst for Storage Switzerland. “The Asigra OpEX Backup Appliance supports these efforts with inline cybersecurity defense against threats to backup data and a subscription-based delivery model that tempers costs.”

The Zadara Cloud Platform uses a combination of industry-standard hardware and patented Zadara software to create a virtualized data storage resource abstraction layer with both enterprise functionality and cloud convenience. Combined with Asigra software, the solution allows administrators to operate in confidence and work with any data type or protocol across distributed IT environments. The highly available (HA) solution delivers superior scalability, flexibility, data integrity, and a compelling total cost of ownership (TCO).

“Excited with the Asigra/Zadara partnership, our mutual partners and customers are raving about the Cloud OpEX Backup Appliance as it is the first of its kind to protect backup data against the ominous threat of ransomware,” said Nelson Nahum, co-founder and CEO, Zadara. “The combined expertise of two award-winning technology providers gives organizations the confidence they need to ensure a reliable and productive work environment without limitations.”

“With the threat of data loss overshadowing IT on a daily basis, the Asigra Cloud OpEX Backup Appliance significantly reduces the potential for data theft or operational downtime while keeping costs at a minimum,” said Eran Farajun, EVP, Asigra. “The flexibility of this Zadara-based platform adapts to nearly any IT environment using the industry’s strongest data protection and cybersecurity technologies available, supporting partners and customers globally.”

Pricing and Availability
The Asigra OPEX Backup Appliance is available immediately through authorized partners. Pricing starts at pennies per GB per month for a virtual appliance configured with 30TB of storage and the ability to scale to multiple petabytes.
