Agreement between Circular Computing and SYNNEX Corporation brings a New Sustainable Category of IT to the North American IT Market

Market leaders can now bring IT onto their sustainability agenda with innovative new agreement

Circular Computing, a leader in sustainable remanufactured IT equipment, has signed an agreement with SYNNEX Corporation (NYSE: SNX), a leading business process services company, to provide no-compromise carbon neutral computers to businesses. The agreement offers an effective solution for market leaders to get into the circular economy and drive the global sustainability agenda forward.

Since 1992, Circular Computing has been repurposing the IT inventories of large corporations and has recently perfected the means to challenge the default option of buying new laptops.

Until now, Chief Procurement Officers (CPOs) only had the option of buying either brand new or refurbished units – with the latter historically providing a lack of consistency in volume, performance, quality and warranty. Circular Computing takes care of this, and the CPO now has a new option.

Circular Computing is a pioneer in the sustainable use of technology. Its teams in the UK and UAE remanufacture thousands of laptops per month in a rigorous process that includes full or partial dismantling of the unit, battery replacement, component and screen upgrades, and replacement of storage media. After comprehensive testing, the product is then delivered to the customer with a three-year warranty, an offering which is designed to provide sustainable IT without compromise to the user in quality, support or productivity.

This commitment-based deal helps prevent the release of hundreds of thousands of tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere while saving the earth’s dwindling resources that would have gone into new stock production. Additionally, this pioneering initiative is a route to providing a truly zero-carbon laptop delivered through the purchase of carbon credits and the planting of five trees for every laptop sold to SYNNEX customers.

Rod Neale, Founder and CEO at Circular Computing, said, “Our exciting new agreement with SYNNEX is incredibly important to us as a company and serves as another small step to challenge industry thinking on resource consumption. As a company, we are challenging and questioning ourselves to do better, and this agreement will bring to the IT channel the ability to buy remanufactured, pre-used laptops without any of the compromise against buying brand new.”
