Acer Offers to Keep Business Running on New TravelMate P645 Ultrabook

TravelMate P645 Series commercial ultrabooks feature 4th generation Intel Core processors and is supported by 2GB AMD Radeon HD 8750M GPU.

Acer America’s TravelMate P645 Series commercial ultrabooks boasts longer battery life and improved performance, as well as new reliability features that will keep customers working longer and more effectively.

The new ultrabooks feature 4th generation Intel Core processors, which reduce power consumption by as much as 12 percent. This results in longer battery life of up to 8 hours for enhanced productivity. The 4th generation Intel Core processors provide performance improvements of up to 15 percent and 3D graphics performance that is two times faster than 3rd generation Intel Core processors. Models will be powered by an Intel Core i7 or i5 processor.

The TravelMate P645 ultrabook features a high strength carbon fiber lid that contributes to the lightweight design that weighs only 3.31 pounds and measures just 0.81 inches thin. Plus, the Magnesium-Aluminum palm rest and bottom cover withstand pressure and protect the system from drops. The cooling fan ensures the ultrabook runs at a comfortable and reliable temperature, while the integrated Dust Defender clears out dust from the cooling system for improved reliability.

Design and Technology
The TravelMate P645’s 14-inch display is offered in two different resolutions. The full HD high 1920×1080 resolution model uses IPS technology and is supported by AMD Radeon HD 8750M graphics with 2GB DDR3 VRAM. In addition, the HD 1366×768 resolution model uses Intel HD graphics 5000/400. Both displays are LED-backlit and provide wide viewing angles of up to 170 degrees for comfortable viewing and sharing. The ComfyView anti-glare technology enhances the view in a range of settings. Plus, the TravelMate P645 line supports up to two additional displays – so executives can view a total of three displays simultaneously.

The full-sized Chiclet keyboard provides a 1.4mm travel distance and has a spill-resistant design to protect it from accidents. In addition, the keyboard is LED-backlit, so Acer customers can see the keys even in dimly-lit environments.

The TravelMate P645 has the option for the Acer ProDock that comes with USB 3.0, USB 2.0, Display, DVI, HDMI, and VGA ports. Corporate and commercial customers can connect their Acer TravelMate P645 via Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth. The ultrabook line comes with Near Field Communication (NFC) support and an application to scan business cards and additional information with other devices.

The Acer TravelMate P645 is optimized for conference calls with features including a high-def 720p webcam, dual microphones, convenient mute key, high definition audio, and Acer’s new “Purified.Voice,” which enhances voice sound and reduces background noise and keystrokes while conducting video conferences, VoIP, or voice recognition.

Security and Manageability
Acer ProShield Manager, a suite of essential security and manageability tools, integrates key features and prevents unauthorized access while safeguarding valuable assets and data. Acer ProShield features pre-boot authentication and protects the ultrabook from the BIOS level all the way to the application level. Users can create a Personal Secure Drive (PSD) to seamlessly store and encrypt all critical files, ensuring that if the Acer TravelMate P645 is lost or stolen, the data cannot be accessed. Finally, it offers the automated solution to manage IT assets remotely.

The ultrabook also provides the option for an integrated biometric fingerprint reader paired with a Trusted Platform Module 1.2 reader to secure the system from unauthorized access. Customers can even utilize the new face login feature, which captures and verifies the login image compared to that in the database. Via the Kensington lock, the ultrabook can be secured to a desk.

The TravelMate P645 Series also comes with Acer Office Manager (AOM), a manageability solution, which allows IT managers to deploy security policies, monitor IT assets, and schedule maintenance tasks in one simple application. Intel vPro with Active Management Technology 9.0 allows the IT department to manage software and hardware computing assets within an organization. Manageability lowers the total cost of ownership by allowing IT professionals to easily service and upgrade many of the internal components.

The TravelMate P645 ultrabook line provides up to 12GB of DDR3 memory, and a SSD up to 256GB in capacity. It is also available to customers with Windows 8.1, Windows 8 Pro 64-bit, Windows 8 64-bit, and Windows 7.

Pricing, Eco-Compliance, and Warranty
The Acer TravelMate P645 ultrabooks will be available now in the U.S. and Canada from authorized Acer resellers. Prices for the TravelMate P645 Series begin at $949.99 USD in the U.S. and $899.99 CAD in Canada.

The ultrabook models are Energy Star 5.0 qualified, RoHS compliant, and meet the criteria to be titled as EPEAT Gold.

The new Acer TravelMate P645 Series comes with a standard two-year parts and labor warranty, which can be extended to three years of Acer Advantage service. Additionally, some models have longer warranties offered through specific channel partners. All Acer notebooks and ultrabooks are backed by toll-free service and support.
