Accellion Introduces kiteworks Cloud Content Connectors for Box and Dropbox

With the addition of the new cloud connectors, kiteworks offers full IT visibility of cloud content sharing for compliance.

Accellion Inc.,†a developer of software for mobile file sharing, has introduced kiteworks†content connectors for Box and Dropbox. With the addition of the new cloud connectors, kiteworks now offers IT organizations the ability to enable, track, and secure the sharing of content both inside and outside the firewall. †

“Enterprise organizations want to provide their employees access to all the data they need to get their job done, while ensuring that content sharing and syncing is done in a compliant manner,” says Yorgen Edholm, CEO at Accellion. “We’ve taken a unique approach which recognizes that content is stored in multiple locations and what is needed is a way to be able to access and work with that content securely. †We’re thrilled to offer a solution that does just that. Now, kiteworks users can view, edit, share, and collaborate on content with internal and external users, on mobile devices, laptops, or desktops regardless of whether the content is stored in the cloud or behind the firewall.”

The complete list of kiteworks content connectors includes†SharePoint 2007, 2010, 2013, SharePoint Online,†Windows File Shares and Distributed File Systems, Documentum, OpenText, Google Drive for Work, Microsoft OneDrive for Business, Box, and Dropbox. The kiteworks cloud content connectors offer:

  • Full control and visibility of enterprise content sharing across†all†content stores for compliance with government and industry regulations such as HIPAA.
  • IT has full audit and reporting capabilities for all content stored and shared via cloud content repositories, and on-premise enterprise content managements systems — includes granular logging of user login, sharing, and file/folder activities.
  • Users can view all content through a single interface, regardless of whether the content is stored in a cloud service such as Box and Dropbox, or on-premise in an enterprise content management system such as Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Users have secure mobile access to cloud content sources with fully containerized, secure round trip editing of Microsoft Office and PDF files.
  • Users have secure mobile sharing and collaboration of files stored in cloud and on-premise solutions, while maintaining the “document of record” in the source system without content duplication.
  • Users can share files from different content sources, including cloud storage, the kiteworks container, local devices, and on-premise ECM systems, all from within the same solution.

In addition to the cloud connectors, kiteworks also provides a native connector†to personal windows folders,†often referred to as the P or H Drive. Every organization has native Home Shares, and enterprise users can now connect to their personal windows folder drive from any mobile device. †

The Box cloud content connector is now available, while the Dropbox cloud content connector will be available later this year. For more information on Accellion’s kiteworks cloud content connectors, visit http://www.accellion.com/solutions/content-connectors.
