A new federal mandate announced Nov. 30th requires the over 300,000 companies that work on U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) contracts to conduct a complex internal security self-assessment and submit the results to the federal government. This is the first step towards enforcing the attainment of new Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certifications by these contractors at one of five distinct levels, based on their contract by Oct. 31, 2025.
