Tech Data’s Channel Link event for channel partners and service providers, themed "where needs and solutions converge," is taking place this week in New Orleans. This three-day enablement event, running June 18 to 20, is designed to offer insights from thought leaders, vendors, and peers on the best practices and solutions for running a successful business now and in the future.

In NOLA style, Tech Data’s Rob Webster, director of SMB sales, was led into the general session by a Dixieland jazz band on a paddle-wheel steamer float tossing beads. He told the audience, “Our top goal at this event is to have you depart with a better understanding of how you can utilize Tech Data as your solutions curator and dedicated partner in your journey to success.”

He followed with a history lesson, discussing NOLA inventions and milestones, then the early days of Tech Data and the products sold. Now, in 2019, he says Tech Data is focused on helping partners navigate the changing tech landscape and monetize opportunities in areas like IoT, cloud, mobile, artificial intellignece, and more.

Tech Data executives followed with presentations on a shared response to cyberthreat and delivering higher value in the endpoint, cloud, and advanced solutions. That was followed by a panel discussion on “Addressing Needs through Digital Transformation–Creating Revenue, Resources, and Speed.”

The afternoon features vendor breakout sessions on a variety of topics, including security, cloud, networking, and more. A cocktail reception ends the day.

On Thursday, attendees have a full day of educational sessions, as well as the opportunity to browse the vendor expo.

In addition, the morning will feature keynote speaker Colonel (ret) Mark Tillman, who was chosen as the nation's 12th Presidential pilot, serving as pilot and commander of Air Force One from 2001-2009. Col. Tillman was at the controls of Air Force One through numerous national events. Most notably, he protected the President on September 11, 2001, by keeping him out of harms way and connecting the flying oval office to the nation's first responders.

Channel Link concludes with a Finale Dinner at Mardi Gras World.
