It’s a lesson that SherWeb Inc. subscribes to as well. The “born-in-the-cloud” vendor, which has been providing online services and solutions since 1998, aims to help partners with limited resources of their own grow faster and reach higher by tapping into what Director of Partner Success Mathieu LeBlanc calls “the SherWeb leverage effect.”
“We accelerate their sales by giving them access to co-selling services, solution architects, training services, and enablement services,” he says, adding that the Sherbrooke, Quebec-based company also helps channel pros fatten profits by outsourcing costly operational processes.
“We really try to focus all of our efforts on becoming our partners’ business partner,” LeBlanc says.
At present, SherWeb has roughly 10,000 partners, about half of whom work with a dedicated account manager. “That person is responsible for building a business plan with you,” LeBlanc says. Account managers also provide input on matters like expanding a service lineup and optimizing service-bundle profitability.
Marketing assistance available to resellers spans beyond the usual brandable collateral and cheat sheets to encompass best practices instruction too. “We’ve built quite a bit of expertise over the last 20 years in how to be successful bringing a cloud offering to a customer,” LeBlanc says. “We bring all of that expertise to our partners.”
Tapping into Professional Services
Partners who wish to add customers without adding technicians, meanwhile, can tap into SherWeb’s professional services organization. Channel pros rolling out a new hosted Exchange environment, for example, can offload data migration duties to a team that’s performed the process 50,000 times for free.
“It allows them to increase their migration capacity, increase their margins, and hand off a large portion of the email migration workload to a migration team that does this day in, day out,” LeBlanc notes. For a fee, SherWeb will also assist with onboarding and other one-time activities, or provide phone support through its 24/7 help desk.
