New Name, Same Partner Strategy for BlackBerry Cylance: Page 2 of 2

A year after being acquired by BlackBerry, security vendor Cylance still offers MSPs, MSSPs, and other channel pros the same personalized attention. By Rich Freeman

Both MSPs and MSSPs, according to Mitchell, appreciate the Cylance portfolio’s managed service-friendly features, which include a multitenant management console, integration with software from ConnectWise, and optional monthly billing.

There are other things to like about Cylance products as well, she continues, including how easy they are to learn and deploy, which makes completing the company’s onboarding process easy too. “Partners are up and running in 30 days,” Mitchell says.

Cylance products are best known for their underlying artificial intelligence (AI) technology, which the company says can foresee potential threats months and even years ahead of time. “We predict and prevent attacks before they happen,” Mitchell says, adding that the company also has an AI-powered endpoint detection and response system to root out any attacks that manage to break in.

BlackBerry products, including its unified endpoint management and embedded system security solutions, will soon tap into Cylance’s AI engine as well. The latter offering, named QNX, currently protects over 150 million cars worldwide.

MSSPs, meanwhile, can use Cylance’s ThreatZERO service to provide security health checks for end users much faster than they can on their own. “It used to take an MSSP two engineers and eight days to provide all the analysis,” Anjel says. Now, he continues, a single engineer can do the job in five hours.

New name or old, partners can expect labor savings like that to remain a core part of the BlackBerry Cylance value proposition.
