SMB Channel Veteran Named New President and Chariman of Association of Computer Repair Business Owners (ACRBO)

Herman Pool, a 21-year tech veteran, plans to focus on growth and education to help members thrive.

The Association of Computer Repair Business Owners (ACRBO) has appointed Herman Pool as its new president and chairman of the board of directors. Pool brings more than 20 years of industry experience to his new role, having previously served as CEO of his own IT service provider and marketing companies. Pool replaces Daniel Hand, ACRBO’s president and chairman of the board, who founded ACRBO in 2009. Hand will continue to be an advisor to the board of directors.

“We welcome Herman’s experience and leadership to the ACRBO community,” says Hand. “In his new role as president, he will be responsible for working with vendors and members to promote professionalism and ethics throughout the IT industry, and develop new industry education opportunities to help IT business entrepreneurs grow and thrive. He also brings a new results-driven team of strategic thinkers who will be instrumental in not only growing our membership, but helping our members grow as well.”

“ACRBO is a wonderful organization dedicated to helping small- to medium-size IT business owners grow their business. We have a membership that ranges from one-person shops to 40-plus employee MSPs, and we hope to help all of them grow their businesses,” says Pool. “I am excited to be part of the new ACRBO team, building on the success of its founder Daniel Hand. With the growing membership, the organization has really become a force in the industry. I and my team will be working to use the collective power of the group to help advance the IT industry.”

Pool has experience in making small businesses’ voices heard.†As part of CompTIA’s very first D.C. Fly In lobbying team, Pool began to take the message of truly small businesses to Capitol Hill. He also serves as president and CEO of Vertical Axion LLC, a marketing company focused on helping IT business owners reach their goals. Before launching Vertical Axion, Pool founded and ran several IT-related businesses including a home automation store, an Internet LAN gaming center, and an IT company that he has owned and operated for more 20 years.†
