CES 2011 to See Supermicro’s Latest Uni-Processor Platforms

The latest UP products are unveiled just in time for the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The platforms are based on the new Intel P67 and Q67 chipsets.

Super Micro Computer Inc. launched its latest high-performance UP (uni-processor) platforms just in time for CES 2011 in Las Vegas. The company will be demonstrating the platforms this week, Jan. 6-Jan. 9 in Booth #5621 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The new UP platforms from Supermicro are based on the new Intel P67 and Q67 chipsets optimized for Intel 2nd Generation Core i7/i5/i3 processors.

“These newest additions to our UP product portfolio deliver Supermicro’s server-class quality and technology benefits to the workstation and high-end desktop markets,” explains Phidias Chou, senior vice president of worldwide sales at Supermicro. “Designed with the latest chipsets from Intel, these feature-rich platforms are ideal for both personal workstations and gaming solutions.”

The Supermicro C7P67- and C7Q67-based systems support a variety of capabilities. Featuring such new technology as USB 3.0 and SATA 3.0, the systems deliver transfer rates of up to 5 Gb/sec and 6 Gb/sec respectively.

In addition, the systems provide optional Disk On Module (DOM) support for boot-capable storage devices. They also deliver fast conversion of video files, enhanced visual quality, color fidelity for HD playback, and 3D performance for life-like gaming.

The systems will be demonstrated at the gaming zone of the CES show this week, and they will be used for the game tournament hosted by ESL in Supermicro’s booth. The tournament will be broadcast live with commentary at http://www.ustream.tv.
