Windows 8 has definitely elicited a mixed bag of reactions from customers. PC users are concerned about using something that feels like a mobile platform on their desktop computer (unless they are lucky enough to be an owner of a Microsoft Surface), and mobile users are discouraged by how the feels-like-mobile platform actually translates to their mobile device. But Microsoft seems to be working on it. However, amidst the waves of disapproval, there are some apps that are not only downloaded frequently, but rated highly as well.
This collection highlights the apps that are impressing Windows Phone users with their usability and specific array of features, and covers most everything from entertainment to special interests. There's even an app that reads space weather and one that let's you make payments to Starbucks. These top-rated apps are either paid or free and were developed by Rudy Huyn, Google, Flixster, Microsoft, Netflix, Social Ebola, Krueger Systems, Topperware, AnKo Software, and others. And while the universe of Windows of apps is not as robust as what iOS or Android has to offer, there are definitely some useful tools.
While not every app will be suitable for you, there are sure to be apps on your download list.
