Try as we might, ChannelPro rarely manages to coax experienced industry leaders into going public with upcoming announcements in advance. That doesn’t stop us from trying, though, and at Tech Data’s Channel Link event last week we managed to get a few vague but still intriguing hints out of company executives about what the distribution giant has up its sleeves for the second half of the year.
Almost everyone in IT sees big potential in the Internet of Things. The trick is figuring out how best to capitalize on it.
According to senior vice president of U.S. marketing and purchasing Brian Davis, solution bundles targeting specific needs in specific vertical industries is Tech Data’s soon-to-be-revealed answer.
“By going with a vertical solution approach it will help to narrow our focus and therefore allow us to be a better advisor,” he says.
And when might the first of those narrowly focused offerings become available? “Very shortly,” Davis says.
